I´ve been swamped with work this week, so I have just started tackling the reading material for week 6. I can see it´s getting better and better.
I have read about teaching large classes in a way to get the students involved in the learning process. One of those ways is by using power point presentations so we catch the students´ attention. It´s a well known fact that, we recall more if we see it than just merely listen to it.
So far, I have never created a PPT for my classes, although I am familiar with Power Point. One reason why I have never used such a program is because we did not have the technology in class. Now we do. So I will prepare these kinds of presentations to enliven my classes.
So, this is another tool which I will add to my teaching repertoire. I enjoy enriching my tech knowledge.

Hello Jerry.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right about us having to read much this week :) I haven't even had time to finish all I wanted and left it for some other, idler time.
You are also right about using power point presentations to engage our students. One if their greatest features is that multimedia contents can be embedded into them thus providing more that one way to teach and present something. Also, if created to be interactive, they can turned into a sort of a simple educational software used for, lets say, reading activities or some kind of quiz.
Looking forward to reading your next posts,

Yes Jerry,
ReplyDeleteYou are right to learn something new is good. This on line course gave us opportunity to have a great idea of many interesting things. Now with the creation of Interacitive Power Point , I think it is auseful thing very active for our students and ejoyable for us as teachers too, because we are trying to find new ideas , and exploring the best something for our students.
Good job dear friend
